TP1 Stairs Platform: German Innovation Award 2018 for Hailo

Third prize in succession: the company has now been crowned a winner at the German Innovation Award 2018 with the TP1 stairs platform. The world first was awarded "Gold" in the Gardening & Tools category.

The expert jury rated the product according to criteria such as user benefit, innovation strategy, functionality and operability, longevity and quality, as well as sustainability.

The German Innovation Award is a new prize for innovation and it recognises products which add value, have a lasting impact and make life easier - across all sectors. The demanding nomination process reflects the independence and excellence of the competition, held for the first time in 2018: entrants are put forward by panels of experts from the renowned German Design Council.

Hailo, the inventor of the first aluminium household ladder, focused on the needs of DIYers when designing the TP1 stairs platform. The innovation can be used on a wide variety of stairs: the TP1 compensates for height differences and can be used as a working platform or as a base for folding steps and stepladders with up to four steps. Telescopic rails allow for flexible adjustment, even on spiral staircases.

For Hailo, another big win in a prestigious competition is further confirmation of the company's great innovative strength which, together with its new developments, enables it to keep setting new standards in the industry.
